Flamba Tweens AI (“Flamba”, “we”, “our”, “the Application”) is an educational AI companion designed specifically for children ages 8 to 12, helping them understand school subjects safely, privately, and independently.
We are committed to protecting children’s data, minimizing collection, and ensuring a safe and transparent AI environment.
The Application is developed and operated by an individual developer under the trade name Flamba.
1. Age Group and Eligibility
Flamba Tweens AI is intended for children aged 8–12 and complies with:
- COPPA (US)
- GDPR & GDPR-K (EU)
- Australian Online Safety & Privacy Standards
- Israel Privacy Law
- Apple App Store Kids Category
- Google Play Families Policy
Age verification is handled by Apple/Google systems.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary.
2.1 Profile Information
- Age
- Country
- Optional: Gender
Real names of children are not collected.
2.2 Parent Contact (when required by law)
Parent email may be requested for children under 13.
2.3 Technical Information
- Device type
- App version
- Non-identifiable analytics
- Push notification token
2.4 We Do NOT Collect
- chat history
- voice recordings
- photos (except momentary processing)
- hand-written notes
- phone number or address
- advertising IDs
- GPS location
- biometric identifiers
3. How Our Features Work (Technical Overview)
3.1 Text Chat – AI Learning Assistant
- Child asks a question
- Sent to flamba.app
- Safety filters applied
- Forwarded to AI provider
- Safe reply returned
- No messages are stored
3.2 Voice Chat (optional)
- Short audio sent to backend
- Transcription → AI reply
- No audio stored
3.3 AI Image Generation
- Optional feature
- Images created only on request
- Saved locally by the child
- Not stored by Flamba
3.4 Snap&See – Vision Recognition
- Photo processed through backend
- Object explanation returned
- Photo deleted immediately after processing
3.5 Study Buddy (Core Feature)
Study Buddy is the main educational tool of Flamba Tweens AI.
It helps children ages 8–12 understand school subjects safely and privately.
How Study Buddy Works
- Child writes a school-related question
- Question is sent only to flamba.app
- Backend filters unsafe prompts
- Forwarded to AI provider
- AI returns an age-appropriate explanation
- Response appears in the app
What Study Buddy Does
- simplifies complex text
- gives step-by-step explanations
- teaches concepts, rules, and definitions
- supports reading comprehension
- helps understand homework
- encourages independent learning
What Study Buddy Does NOT Do
- does NOT store school questions
- does NOT build learning profiles
- does NOT track progress
- does NOT grade performance
- does NOT create a “student profile”
- does NOT use any personal data
Data Handling
- All questions and answers processed live
- Nothing is saved on servers
- No educational history created
- No analytics tied to learning content
Study Buddy is fully text-only, private, anonymous, and safe.
3.6 Kids Activity (Top Queries)
Only keywords — not full messages — are stored for educational analytics.
3.7 Brain Buster
Operates entirely on-device. No data transmitted.
3.8 Registration & Profile
Stored securely and deleted instantly when profile is removed.
3.9 Feedback Form
Only text feedback is stored securely.
3.10 Subscriptions
Managed entirely by Apple/Google. Children cannot authorize purchases.
4. AI Transparency
Flamba Tweens AI uses AI for:
- text learning assistance
- image generation (optional)
- visual explanations (Snap&See)
- Study Buddy educational reasoning
Children and parents are informed that AI provides the responses, not a human.
We do NOT:
- store prompts or questions
- profile children
- track learning history
- use AI for decisions affecting rights
5. Safety and Moderation
Flamba uses:
- rule-based filters
- multi-layered safety protections
- child-appropriate restrictions
- human moderation for shared content (if enabled)
Unsafe prompts are blocked or ignored.
No AI moderation engines are used.
6. Data Retention
6.1 Immediate Deletion
- All stored data erased instantly when profile deleted
- No backups kept
- Any linked analytics removed
6.2 Analytics
Anonymous analytics retained for 2 months.
7. Security
Includes:
- encrypted communication
- access controls
- secure backend hosting
- security alerts
- layered safety systems
Monitoring exists but is not real-time guaranteed.
8. Third-Party Service Providers (Categories)
We use service providers for:
- cloud hosting
- secure cloud storage
- AI processing
- audio processing
- vision recognition
- analytics
- authentication
- notifications
- subscription management
- safety systems
All providers act strictly as processors.
Full list available upon verified parental request.
9. International Transfers
Available globally (Android) and globally on iOS except China.
We use:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC)
- equivalent protections
- secure backend routing
No data is sent directly from the device to external AI providers.
10. Rights of Parents and Children
Children (ages 8–12)
- use the Application
- delete their profile
- access learning features
Parents may:
- delete the profile instantly
- request access to stored profile information
- request deletion of optional fields
- request deletion of any shared images (if gallery enabled)
- exercise all legal data rights
Children cannot modify personal data or authorize purchases.
11. Changes to This Policy
Updated periodically.
Material updates may appear inside the Application.
